The perfect fit

Find a Dress Tailor Near You

A pre-loved gown becomes your gown with the right alterations. Search your city to find local tailors and seamstresses who can make it fit like it was made for you.

Before you go: alteration tips

Budget $40–$100

Taking in a bodice or hemming a gown usually runs $40–$100. Complex beadwork or corset changes cost more — always ask for a quote first.

Book 4–6 weeks ahead

Good tailors get busy during quince and prom season. Bring the dress, the shoes you'll wear, and any undergarments to your first fitting.

Ask about formal wear

Not every tailor works on gowns. Ask if they've altered quinceañera or prom dresses before — layers of tulle and boning need experience.

Get it in writing

Agree on the price, what's included, and the pickup date before leaving your dress. Take a photo of the gown when you drop it off.
