How to buy on Quince Closet
A beautiful dress, another celebration. Here’s how to find your gown and buy directly from the family passing it on.
Find a gown you love
Browse without an account. Filter by size, color, designer, Model/Style, or state, then open a listing to see its photos, condition, price, and payment options. Sign in to save favorites or contact a seller.
Get the details before you pay
Message the seller through Quince Closet. Ask about measurements, alterations, wear, included accessories, and availability. Confirm the shipping cost and timing, or agree on a public meeting place for local pickup.
Choose PayPal shipping or local cash pickup
For a shipped purchase, add the dress to your cart and enter your shipping address at checkout. Use the seller’s PayPal button to pay them directly. If your cart includes different sellers, send a separate payment to each one.
Choose PayPal Goods & Services for eligible purchase protection—not Friends & Family. For cash-only listings, message the seller instead of using online checkout. Listings accepting both let you arrange local cash pickup or pay online.
Return to confirm your online order
After completing each PayPal payment, return to Quince Closet and select “I’ve sent the payment — place my order.” Keep your PayPal receipt and check the seller, amount, and delivery details carefully.
This button records your confirmation; Quince Closet does not automatically verify PayPal payments. Your seller must check their own PayPal account before shipping.
Follow the shipment—or inspect at pickup
For online orders, the seller confirms payment received, then can see your shipping address and add a tracking number after shipping. Check your order in your dashboard and stay in touch through messages. For local cash pickup, inspect the actual dress in a public place before handing over payment.

Keep conversations in Quince Closet messages. Don’t send advance hold deposits through Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, or wire transfer. For local cash sales, meet in a public place and inspect the dress before paying.
If a listing looks suspicious, use “Report this listing” on the dress page. Sign in to submit a report. Admin review is not a guarantee that a seller or listing is genuine.
A few things to know
Does Quince Closet collect my payment?
No. Online payments go directly to the seller’s PayPal account. Quince Closet does not hold your money or charge a marketplace commission. The seller’s listed shipping charge is included in the checkout total.
Is every PayPal purchase protected?
No. PayPal Purchase Protection depends on the transaction being eligible and meeting PayPal’s terms. Use Goods & Services and review PayPal’s current requirements. Friends & Family payments and cash purchases do not have the same purchase protection.
What if the seller has no PayPal link?
You cannot complete online checkout until the seller adds their PayPal.me link. Message them in Quince Closet and ask them to set it up. Don’t switch to an advance deposit through another payment app.
What if there’s a problem with the dress?
Keep the listing details, messages, payment receipt, and photos of what arrived. Contact the seller in Quince Closet messages first. For an eligible PayPal purchase, use PayPal’s dispute process within its current deadlines. Quince Closet does not automatically issue refunds or promise a universal return policy; agree on return terms before buying.
